Doug Rosman (b. Santa Monica, 1991) is an artist and programmer working at the intersection of art and technology. He received his Bachelor of Arts in the Interdisciplinary Computing in the Arts Major at the University of California, San Diego in 2014, and his Master of Fine Arts in Art and Technology Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019. He has exhibited and performed at multiple venues in San Diego and Chicago, and will be included in Ars Electronica 2019 in Linz, Austria. As an artist, Rosman treats computational technology both as a tool for creative expression and as the subject matter of his work. Through interactive installations, audio-visual performances and generative systems, Rosman explores our complex relationship with digital technology, and how living in a world shaped by algorithmic feedback loops influences the way we understand ourselves and the systems in which we are embedded. He is currently a lecturer in the Art and Technology Studies department at SAIC.
