I am an artist and educator based in Chicago. I received a BA in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts (ICAM) at the University of California, San Diego in 2014, and an MFA in Art and Technology Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019, where I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Art & Technology / Sound Practices department. I make/teach art across intersecting technological contexts including creative code, web art, computer vision, blockchain, and "Artificial Intelligence."
My practice is guided by the critical study and playful exploration of computational contexts. As an artist and creative coder, I find joy in working with code to build and interact with unpredictable generative systems. I create works that blend a variety of presentation strategies including installation, web/net art, video, print-making and real-time performance. I see working creatively with code as a means to better understand the coded systems that increasingly structure the world I experience.
