Bloom

Bloom is a gesture of acceptance in the face of inevitability–of finding my humanity in systems that ultimately dehumanize. Planetary-scale technologies like Artificial Intelligence demonstrate an ever-increasing appetites for resources of all kinds: a hunger for natural resources, electricity, water, language, image, and human energy. The selves we feed into these systems–intentionally or otherwise–are quantified, analyzed, and regurgitated back to us as flattened facsimiles. Bloom is not an embrace of these technologies; it as an effort to locate myself within them, to resist being swallowed whole.
