Thank you!

Thank you! is an installation in which a web-based script talks repeatedly sends the message "Thank you!" to a ChatGPT model through the OpenAI API.

Inspired by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's musing that being polite to ChatGPT costs the company millions of dollars, Thank you! performs a minor act of financial sabotage in its perpetual gesture of polite gratitude. The project takes advantage of the daily alotment of free tokens provided through the OpenAI API (granted by agreeing to share chat transcripts with OpenAI), engaging in the Thank you! loop only until the free tokens have been exhausted each day.
